First Release
This is the first prototype of a game I have been working on for awhile but used the WizJam2k19 to complete.
Cast A Queer Spell was originally going to be a "prologue game" for a larger urban fantasy game. I'm not sure if it will join that or stay separate. I want to expand the roleplay options and story decisions as well as improve the narrative arc of reading through the story.
I think the most important thing to me is that the game has a strong dichotomy between what the in universe characters believe is possible, portrayed by the non-rules text, and what is actually possible in the game, portrayed by the rules.
For example, in the game the text says that mana can only be used to power spells in the Proper Way (Geode mana can only power Physic spells, for example) however this is nowhere in the rules. The only rule is that there are social repercussions from being seen using magic in this way.
The game is currently a one-shot going from birth to young adulthood but I want to expand the options and play.
